Pre School Activities

Fun for 0-5 year olds... Although our Pre School Activities are currently closed we have created some fun activities for you to enjoy at home!
Water Play
Why not try...

○ Adding ice cubes to explore texture and temperature

○ Squirt in some washing up liquid or bath soap & whisk it to make bubbles

○ Add drops of food colouring to transform the water

○ Grab different objects from around the house and garden and find out what floats and sinks

Little Movers
Once your little one is up and walking, a whole range of possibilities for exercise open up! Remember you know your child best, so tailor ideas to their level of development and what they enjoy - exercise should always be fun and like play at this age!

Why not try...

○ For those just walking: encourage different types of movement around the house or garden - running, jumping, skipping, etc.

○ Try playing follow the leader and let them copy what you do!

○ Jumping Jacks - count to 10 or as many as you can!

○ Obstacle Course - move the furniture to create space to climb (go on... it's not that scary!)

○ Animal Races - try and move like different animals!

Babies Tummy Time
Tummy time can be done little and often, and built up as your baby gets older and stronger. It's important to help them develop muscles used for sitting and crawling, and can be a great time for sensory exploration! NEVER leave baby unattended while playing

Why not try...

○ Book circle - place 4 or 5 books around baby for them to explore

○ Unbreakable mirror (bath mirror should be fine!) - babies love looking at faces, use a mirror to help baby focus

○ Textures and Ball Pit - place cushions or pillows in a circle on the floor, place a variety of balls or textured objects around baby for them to discover

Cream of Tartar
Optional: Food colouring

Why not try...

○ Get little hands stuck in to the mixing process of actually making your playdough!

○ Use different resources from around the house to explore mark making - even the littlest can get involved!

○ Make a feast! - use cake cases if you have them to make some playdough treats, or if not, imagination works well enough!
