Supported Living Services

Our Supported Living services are dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues to live independently in accommodation that is safe, secure and comfortable, with staff on hand to help if necessary.

Whilst we are still supporting the people living in our supported living services we are maintaining social distancing as much as possible between staff and the people we support...

Positivity
There has been some really fantastic support within our supported living services, including a “Stay home Stay safe” song and dance routine, tea parties and birthday celebrations in the garden, socially distanced walks along the beach, and cooking and baking with people at home.

We have been very lucky the weather has been so good, as everyone has really appreciated the garden, whether it be sitting in the sun enjoying lunch, a cup of tea and a catch up with others in a safe way or a game of Swing ball.
Supported Living Support
Our Supported Living Services are still providing safe care daily to the people we support whilst maintaining a social distance as much as possible and use of PPE.

Thanks to the generally great weather we have had, they have set up a lot of support outside, including games, art, Karaoke, dance, exercise and even camping -  this enables people to see other people, whilst still maintaining a social distance. It also enables staff to support a number of people together.

Other activities include, housework, cooking, baking and craft sessions, some supported by our Creative Arts Studio.

Whilst we are doing the majority of the food shopping for everyone online and staff are doing any top up shops on behalf of the people we support, everyone continues to have choice in what they would like to cook and eat and devise the shopping lists with staff, people also have the additional option of meals provided by ACC café (which has proved a very popular) and the occasional takeaway!

Communication
The people we support are keeping in touch with family and friends through letters, and video calls on tablets and phones. We provide a weekly email update to families and have also increased the frequency of our quarterly newsletter to monthly, so that we can send news stories to family and friends as another way of keeping in touch now that people are not able to have regular physical contact.
