Training & Learning

Enabling adults with learning disabilities and / or autism to live independent lives within enterprise and the community through employment support.

We provide training and learning for the people we support, looking to improve and increase their skills through on the job training, work experience and tailored action planning. We understand that each individual has different needs and ambitions so all of our training support is tailored to the individual to ensure happy and impactful results.

Community Projects
Adopt a Station
Since 2007 the Aldingbourne Trust’s Community Team has worked in partnership with Southern Railway to successfully deliver their “Adopt a Station” project.
Our team of adults with learning disabilities and / or autism and volunteers work hard to make more than 30 stations a more pleasant place to be for travellers by creating and maintaining planters, hanging baskets and window boxes.
The skills learned give each individual more confidence to take on paid employment.  The improved public spaces showcase what a great contribution people with learning disabilities and / or autism can make to their community when given the opportunity.

Aldingbourne Country Centre
At the Aldingbourne Country Centre we embrace every aspect of what we work towards!
The people we support receive support to participate in work-based vocational training activities of their choice, gaining work and social skills to enable social inclusion.

The right support
Individuals receive a mixture of group and 1 to 1 support, depending on what they need and how they best respond to learning.

Individual support
Each individual receives their own tailored programme and is encouraged to help build the contents based on what they want to achieve.

A team effort
Working closely with parents and carers delivers the best results for the people we support. We focus on what the whole team can do to support the individual to learn and develop.

The skills that make a difference
Working and contributing to society is about more than just vocational skills. We provide communication and social skills and work experience in our social enterprises so individuals can put their new skills into practice.
